Conservation officers and staff from the Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action have responded to a fish kill in the Morell River.
Samples were collected from the east branch of the river on Friday where 104 brook trout and 15 other species of fish have been found dead.
Samples have been sent to Environment Canada for lab analysis.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has been asked to close that section of the river for angling.
The investigation continues.
