The UPEI Board of Governors has announced the appointment of Dr. Wendy Rodgers as the seventh President and Vice-Chancellor of the University after a comprehensive 12-month search. Dr. Rodgers will assume the role on June 1st. After serving in a number of administrative and governance roles at the University of Alberta, Dr. Rodgers was most recently the Vice-President Academic and Provost at the University of Northern British Columbia where she led the implementation of numerous academic priorities. The presidential search for UPEI’s seventh president and vice-chancellor began in May 2023. The chair of the Board, Shannon MacDonald, who also chaired the Presidential Search Committee, says they are confident in her leading the execution of the UPEI Action Plan, and shaping the development of the University’s next strategic plan.
