Executive Director of the PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership

Sarah Outram is a passionate and dynamic leader dedicated to creating opportunities for women in, or aspiring to, leadership roles. Born on Prince Edward Island, Sarah always had a deep connection to her community and a strong desire to make a positive impact. Although her career path began in the business and environmental sector, she transitioned to a role at the PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership, where her natural talent for building relationships and fostering community soon became evident. Starting as an Administrative Assistant, Sarah’s dedication and vision led her to the position of Program Officer. In 2023, she took on the role of Executive Director, where she now leads efforts to elevate women and gender-diverse persons’ participation in political, civic, and democratic life across PEI.
But Sarah’s influence extends beyond her work with the Coalition. She has been a driving force in numerous local organizations, including serving as the Past President of Fusion Charlottetown, where she initiated projects like “Earth Week” and “Fusion Flavours” that continue to benefit the community. She also co-led the advocacy efforts to see the pedestrian pathway added to Buchanan Drive. Her leadership experience spans across various boards and committees dedicated to social change, youth empowerment, and gender equality.
Sarah’s personal journey is equally inspiring. Despite living with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, she remains a powerful role model, demonstrating that your appearance does not determine your ability to lead. Sarah’s resilience and dedication to making the world a better place for women in all walks of life is a testament to her strength and vision, and she continues to inspire others every day.
