An issue that has been a focus online on social media on PEI over the past couple days, was also raised in the PEI Legislature on Wednesday. The concern is over the decision to remove a memorial wall at Kensington Intermediate Senior High School — a wall honouring students and teachers who have passed away.
In the face of that backlash, the Public Schools Branch announced Wednesday that it has begun work to provide guidance around memorials at Island schools. The Public Schools Branch says it will be seeking feedback on draft procedures it says are based on recommendations from the National Association of School Psychologists and in line with neighbouring provinces. That feedback period will begin on Monday, December 2nd.
